Establishment of the club...

Orienteering club "TAKAS" was established in 1989 5th September by Rimantas Mikaitis, Saulius Kireilis, Algimantas Dambrauskas and other orienteering fans from Kaunas. In the beginning there were only 24 club members, but now orienteering club "Takas" with almost 100 club members is the biggest club in Lithuania.
The main goals of the club are: achievement of high sport results, competition's organization.

Activitie's history...

Orienteering club "TAKAS" is famous for it's international 5-day event , which is the biggest o-event in Lithuania, where take part about 1000 orienteering fans from about 10 countries. It is very important contribution of our club to orienteering development in Lithuania.
Besides international 5-day event, our club was one of the main organizers of JWOC 2006 in Druskininkai, WMOC 2001 in Nida, and World Cup'96 in Juodkrantė, as well as organizer of several successful Lithuanian championships and other o-events. "TAKAS" is known as one of the best o-events organizer in Lithuania.
Members of the club are not only achieving high sport results, and organize o-events, but also arrange training camps, picnics and trips for all club members and their families. Every year we organize the trip to foreign countries, during our history we visited Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Slovakia.
